I am not a chemist so I can't dispute your math but the marina on my lake checked with the Klotz rep and they assured me that if I used the recommended mixture it would easily take me from 89 to 91.5. In fact the marina ordered the product for me and said they would stand behind the product. I wouldn't want to rely on using it all the time. I am leery to use any additive products but the odd occasion I figure it gives me the peace of mind that I have tried my best to meet the recommended 91.

Read all the fine print you need, if you use mmt in the concentration in the can and mix the max ratio you get the results. Only fine print I found is using it with low 87 gets you 89+, just under the 3 numbers or 30 points. The concentrated race brand has more and yields higher. It's proven to work on knock sensor engines with self tunning, dyno . No knock higher tune absolute dyno gains.
If you choose to buy a brand which has the lowest concentration you'll get low increases such as 1 number.Last edited by FMP; 10-04-2018 at 10:31 AM.

2006 and later will adjust to lower octane fuels. More specifically by serial number but I don't know the serial number range. My DBR kit MUST run 91 MINIMUM or it goes !!KABOOM!! At least that is what I was told. I was a little leery of removing air sensor from plenum and leaving it out in the open LOL.

I would think a dealer or tech would have a listing of differences from ser # to ser # for the motors. Maybe plug in your ser # into a parts site and see if it has a knock sensor listed in the parts breakdown?

Man, you guys are killing me. No 300 XS has ever had a knock sensor. There is NO COMPENSATION for knock, I don't care what you were told. If you think you have knock sensors on your engine, please post pictures of them.
As far as octane boosters go, yeah, some add a little, but do you want to play chemist and be wrong?? I've done the math on this a few times and it's actually cheaper to carry 10 gallons of good race gas and mix it and know what you have, FWIW.
Your mileage may vary...A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

Verados have knock sensor.
IMO all that thinking and doing research must have you stressed then you find something that you think might you go and blow motor now ur even more stressed. Leave the boat home and find other alternative. Something to also consider that marina says 85 octane but if they don't get a frequent fuel drop you might be looking at 83 84octane.
