Back in a Viking!

Hello Stream fans,

Well after a number of years without one and a few years spent in a Checkmate. I finally decided to get another Viking. After searching for a while and making one 800 mile round trip to only come home with an empty hitch. I finally found my new water wedge thanks to Longpond Ray on this forum. After he sold his boat the day it was posted on here. He hooked my up with this little treasure. I feel like I am in the middle of a Barn Find episode!

She is a 1980 Viking in immaculate shape for a 38 year old boat. From what I have been told she was run steady the first half a dozen years or so...and baby'd. Then has sat most of the rest of her life in a garage with a cover on. The rub rail has not a single ding on it anywhere. The transom is solid as a rock and the core is the same. I am going to redo it anyway. I am going to buff her out, (Gelcoat is oxidized a bit on the topside no cracks and the bottom is like new) putting in a new interior, updating the gauges and steering, and installing a 1997 Merc 200...with some mods in the future.

I will update as things progress. It's going to be a long busy winter and I cannot wait to get this gal in the water!
