Barry Woods
Thoughts and prayers needed for Barry Woods, who is currently in a hospital in Reno Nevada. As soon as I have more information than this, I will be sure to pass it along.

More information on Barry's condition from his daughter.
Apparently Barry suffered a severe stroke just before taking off in his plane. He remains in Reno Nevada, while his family makes arrangements to have him transported to Seattle. All is in place for this, and waiting on the doctor's approvals.
For those who have not met Barry, he is one very strong person, and tough competitor, but your thoughts during this time, will add to his personal strength, and speed his recovery.

I remember the first time he drove a rotary; Provo '73. While he didn't finish he lead while running. When he got out of the boat he told Leek "WHAT A RIDE!" Best wishes to him and his family. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Barry Woods .....
My wife and I spent most of the week after the Paris 6 Hour, 1972 traveling with Barry, Ron Hill, Bill Seebold and their wives before coming back to the states. Found out he's not only a tough competitor, he's also a genuinely nice guy, had a good time. We wish him a fast and full recovery.

Met him years ago and when he came to our local race to run on our record course. Carried the boat on top of his hauler. Truly a class act and nice guy. Best wishes Barry.
