EFI 250 from a 300X
The 300X died again. Block has a hole on the side (again), needs a crank and sleeve. I would like to build a simple and reliable fishing motor. Will the 250 EFI power head bolt to the 300X midsection? How much of the hardware will I be able to reuse? Ignition coil, flywheel, oil injection pump, alternator, fuel injector, starter cowling, ECM, VST, linkages, ect. What will I need to buy? Is it doable or not worth it? My 300X is very clean with the parts that rusted have been ceramic coated. I think the 300X is the best looking OB and want to keep that look.

Yes , you can use every bit of your existing bolt on components . Just replacing your basic shortblock and heads for a lower compression 250 EFI .
It's kind of like doing what we are talking about in the 225/250 thread ... but in reverse ..

Hi Chaz. How about the ECM? How will the motor run with a 250 efi power head and a 300X ECM?

Same as all the other 250's that had their box reflashed ..
