Mercury 300XS Lower Unit
To all hello from a newbie! (hopefully that gives everyone a heads up that I'm probably posting in the wrong forum, the wrong way, or something similar)
I bought a 1988 Cigarette Decathlon being pushed by 2007 triple 300XS. This is my first time owning modern outboards and I'm learning as I go (painfully).
My issue is that my center motor broke at the prop shaft and I'm struggling to identify what the lower is so I can order parts or try to repair it?
I'm attaching some pictures so you, the experts, can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like a torquemaster, if it has low water pick ups on the front of the nose cone it should be a torquemaster, if it only has the side pick ups it should be a fleetmaster, I was under the impression that the prop shaft is the same on all 3 though?
44-841978 - Prop Shaft - Sport master
44-841978 - Prop Shaft Fleet master

Link is to the torquemaster parts list, part # is the same on all 3. Not saying this is the best place to purchase, just an example for you.

Both the torquemaster and fleetmasters have low water and side water pickups. 99% the time if you have a fat shaft it is a torquemaster.

What a pain. Why can't there just be a part or serial number somewhere so it can be looked up?!

If you pull the lower there should be some Id markings on the top of housing?
