Megan Update as of 10/29/18 2pm- Meg is still making forward progress!! She has been working hard every day with Speech, Occupational and Physical therapists!! Today they have decided to add cardiac rehab to her daily daily routine. With the work of the therapists she has begun walking with the assistance of a walker.. and today she took steps without the walker!!! She is still having difficulty with speech but we are hopeful this improves as her trach hole grows shut. The fundraisers to date were both an overwhelming success. There is talk of a benefit hockey game coming.. stay tuned for more on this as it comes available. We still dont think she is up for visitors at this time... but here are some pics from today's visit...

Megan Update as of 10/08/18. Some big stuff going on here, well big to us anyway.
Its been just over two months since Megan's cardiac arrest. She's been in an acute rehab for just about a month now and making good progress. She is walking with assistance, going to the bathroom on the toilet (believe me a big deal) but she has not been able to speak or make any noise other than sounding like a goose when she laughs and she does a lot of that combined with some frustration and crying but to be expected.
So yesterday we took her to see and ENT (ear, nose, throat Dr). He stuck some contraption up her nose and down to her vocal cords stimulating them. We were very afraid that they had been damaged by the intubation or tubing and she would never speak again. Boy were we pleased when he said that everything looked fine and her larynx was in perfect working order. On the down side that meant that the brain damage was keeping her from speaking but that was better than a damaged larynx and brain damage so we will deal with it.
Well most days I bring my laptop to the rehab and I play music videos for her most the day singing to her. Well tonight Deb, Michele (her younger sister) and I are with her playing the video of the Killers at Royal Albert Hall in England, Megs favorite video. So Mish and I are singing Spaceman to her and the part where the audiance is going,"Wo hoo Woo hoo" Megan starts going "Woo Woo". She shocked herself and was so excited to make noise she started balling her eyes out. So did the rest of us. Well after that we got her to say "Moo" her sisters nickname, "Nan" her gma, "No", "Love", "Mom" "Murph" her dog and "Bye". Im sure it had something to do with the Doctor stimulating her vocal cords during her exam. What a couple days. Megan even said HI to me yesterday while on the phone with Mike!!!!!!!
But bigger than that we also found that she never lost her biggest talent and mark in this world, yes she is still able to stick a spoon on her nose. Just wonderful.

Megan Update as of 1:00 p.m. 11/17/2018 From Deborah Franzoso: Megan has come so far and still has a long road ahead of her! Today another milestone, she was discharged from rehabilitation hospital. We are convinced that we wouldn't be here today if not for all of the thoughts and prayers, and love and support everyone has shown her and our entire family. There were days I could hold things together and days I thought I was going to lose her and my mind. But I certainly do believe in the power of prayer now!
Side note from me: she still has issues speaking but is making Progress. When I told her over the phone while talking to Mike on her way back home After I said "Ill Put a foot up your ass" she laughed !!!!!!!

Looks like those dogs are teaching her some bad habits.
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Very observant of you. I hadn't noticed the pillow before. That is the picture of love.
