Drop gear ratio would let you run a easier to find prop with less pitch .

Peps looking for big pitch props.... If ya running high speeds why not swich to a taller ratio and less pitch? Less side thurst on shaft and prop breaks. More lift as prop rake works? Just asking. Tip speed ....spinning a prop faster.... limit?

You have to have that ratio available. Not like auto rear ends with many choices.
    Per Rock:

    Per my hero Instigator:

"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

Mr. S There are quite a few nice ones out in my "prop garden" .. The general rule is :

If ya take one to try , leave one behind ...

But in no way do you need to "steal one" ...

Your welcome to borrow whatever ya need ..
