Allison clone and 150 hp Mercury
5 weeks ago I purchased a River Rat hull ( made by Bo's Prop's in French Settlement, La. in 2000, it sat in the showroom until it sold in 2003 ). Bo built 4 of these 14 foot 3 inch boats. ( it is an Allison clone bottom with a Delta deck ) The one I bought was first sold in 2003 to a guy in Paulina,Louisiana. He sold the boat to Todd Skelton in Alabama. Todd put an in line 6 Mercury 150 hp on the transom and I bought it from Todd. The motor has a 5 blade prop on it. It does porpoise a bit. It has a Bob's low water pick up and a 15 inch mid. I drove the boat twice and it got 5700 RPM's @ 55 MPH on a GPS. I have been told the prop is incorrect. I am searching for someone who lives near Valdosta, Ga. to prop the boat for me. I want to buy a prop that will be used for general boating on the Suwannee River and maybe a bi-yearly trip to River Ranch. ( not to go fast but as a spectator and to my boat ) I know this is not a 80 MPH boat but I think with the proper prop it could go faster than it is now traveling. Maybe even drive the boat to help select the correct prop in Florida . The boat has a jack plate. Please help me ! I am a stranger to the boating world ! ( Where is the insert button so I post pics ) Chuck

That boat should run close to 80 pretty easily. Look for a 28-30 small ear chopper.

Agreed on the 80
Per Rock:
"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."
Per my hero Instigator:
"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."
