Going to run hydraulic jack plate s. But wondering what the total setback should be.

I would put the porta brackets on it. 26'' set back. I built some boats out of the cary molds. They did not carry the bow very well with stern drives in them. Also depends on where the fuel tanks will go. They were about midships on the ones I built. Also had a finished cabin.

My boat has no cabin, Bob Lathams boat since new. I purchased it from him. 4 tanks mid ship and under floor. I actually rigged it before with 18" Stainless Marine bracket and hydraulic plates for another 5" but I wanted more opinions on the correct theory. It be worked out fine with 300xs but now I want to go to the new 4 stroke v8 platform when they come out with the supercharged version

Did it lift the bow and run out well?

I had Arneson surface drives on it recently. But I really miss the outboards. Just wasn't fast 70mph

I really liked the floatation of the stainless Marine one. Jerry the owner told me they don't make hydraulic jack plate s anymore so I was going to use Bob's twin setup. The porta bracket seems nice though.
