    CCMS Reed Stuffers

Just received in the mail today. I wanted to post my thoughts on them. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong, but I think these stuffers will be better than shaving front half. Not only do they put reeds closer to the crank, but also keep carbs further away. Kinda like a 3/16 spacer plate. I could be wrong. Thanks Chris

I got 5 pedal. About 3/32 thick. 4 pedal stuffers will be thicker because reed blocks are shorter.

Hi,guys just put new ccm race reeds an stuffers in my motor today. Little info on motor an boat, 2001 ally xb2002t with 1999 xr6 150. The only mods ive done is 200 bell tuner, drilled can an mid, installed Bobs exhaust snout, velocity stacks an rejetted carbs. My motor was still running good, butt wanted to get rid of metal stock reeds, figured they were stock an nervous about sucking one threw motor.Well when i tore down this mourning one reed had half a leaf gone and a few others had tips missing,i lapped cages, installed stuffers an reeds put back together.Went to river to test my work lol an see what changed, full tank of fuel, hot as hell, windy,an high humity.Turned 6800 dam lost some of my post sorry any way, ran 83 .4 about same as normal. engine idles better an seems two have a little better low end torque.I ran boat weekend before last with half of fuel an ran 84.5.so top end probably around the same. hope this gives a little feedback to yall. Thanks Chris for parts Randy

Well lost some of my orignal post, motor turned same rpms as before 6800 today an same two weekends ago. Better idle an seems like a little more torque on bottom end,not sure on top, half a tank of fuel makes a difference on my little motor,i didnt figure changes was gonna make a drastic change, more for safety. checked compression when i got home.whew was same in all 6, same 125,dont think broken reed hurt cylinder

i used them on a 3cyl omc 49ci block last year. was just a fishing motor for a customer. starts were near instant, but then again it was rebuilt they all start right away when rebuilt. i couldn't notice a thing performance wise, but definitely idled smoother as you said.

i used .060" CCM spacers on 2.5 280HP with drag electronics ussing 5 pettle sportjet cages with carbon reeds.they seemed to give a tad better holeshot..CONS is they are a royal PIA to fit!!you literlly have to take dremel and saw/grind everyone of those tiny 3mm hold down screws..ALL 60 of them!you have to do this after installing reeds and be extra careful not to nick reeds with dremel.this is only way cages will fit into front half deep enough so .060 spacer will fit..you have to grind/cut away the head (panhead)about 50%.this is a onetime use as you would never be able to use the hold-down screws in future, this is my application,so take it what it is worth.Chris and Stan are BEST in business and HIGHLY reccommend!!

For what it's worth, the seven petals and sport jet 5's are the only ones that may need the screws trimmed a bit.Easiest way I think is a careful few seconds on a belt sander once the reeds are mounted, then blow off the dust.Half a minute on each side does the trick...sorry they gave you a hard time,Chris
