Leon ( Torque Speed ) and I have worked together on a few different project's over the years. Normally we talk on the phone when it would be too long to type it all in an e-mail. I was suprised when he "pinged" me on here .. so being "cheeky" ( jokingly ) knowing the Kiwi Islands are off the coast of OZ. and that sign was one of the first things that came up ... I went with it.
No disrespect was meant to either you or him ..
Let me guess ... they are like 5000 kilometers on the other side from Western Oz. where's he's at ...
    Can't blame a krakka , for tryin ...

Well CHAZ might flying in here on this post as well as you know i bort into the programing side of this for reflashing the old denso packs if any guys on here running the old school 3 litres pre 2002 i have a variety of reflashes even the ones that work with the hybrids i build with your 300x billet intakes that work well on the old pre 2002 engines.
Sooo on that note here is the deal.....
Freee postage is one exchange packs or i can reflash theres
6100 250 Pro XB IGN and fuel ECU
6500 300 Promax IGN and Pro xb fuel which runs heaps better than the 300 fuel thats my 6500 performance reflash
7200 300 Promax IGN and FUEL which i use this on my hybrid builds 300x intake on the pre 2002 blocks heads CNC cut 150comp or 170 comp all the goodie mods ,lite fly wheel ,exhaust chest mod ,porting, either standard 300x throttle body or simons big bore throttle body
either way on these old girls the packs go well.
soo on that note PM me if you have a old girl 3.0litre and need a reflash i have alot of programs but only for the denso era of engines i do have some 2.5 programs as well i havent gone through yet.

hope you like the detail added on the Ecus in the picture

    cheers Leon

Yes the late plenum / reed adapter plate will bolt on the early blocks.

The early TPS , IAT and Map sensors need to be adapted / mounted .

Chaz do you have access to an anodizer i wouldnt mind these being red or blue anodized manifolds if not thats ok i can get them done here in Western Australia .
I want to refine my kits with brackets, gaskets as well even to the piont of the VST mod eg adjustable reg.
getting there slowly it does give a great updated look to the old girls certainly makes the old girls go better.
i can get the 300x plenums and throttle bodys new, pricing is good here in Australia on them and i keep 4 in stock now.
The throttle body shaft mod i will do now i did use a guy to do those but not worth the cost.
i certainly have a better setup now changed alot of things round in the workshop as a assembly line.
and 7 old girls to build up as modded 300 Aliens i am busy.

    Early

    Late

    Opti

Are how I break down the three different , year / type / style , of 3.0L engines. While many parts are the same and will interchange. Just consider the fuel and ignition type parts married to one of the above particular engine families, and you will be OK .

As far as meeting fuel requirements, adjustable regulator kits were covered earlier in this thread .

The plenum box's are cast aluminum and don't take well to being anodized . A good powdercoater ( maybe Uncle Bud will step in ) will I believe put down a silver base and then a transparent red or blue over top, to make it look like it has been anodized. In any event good looking stuff ...

The plenum ( bread box ) and throttle bodys I try to get with a Opti-Pop core, just before it gets thrown in the big green parts bin located out in the rain and mud ..

I make a velocity stack and bore the I.D. 1/8" I make a stainless blade and use buttonhead allen screws to hold it in place. Since this one was going on an early model, I did extend the shaft to drive the TPS .
Sooo since we are always honest with each other .. when I was putting the radius on the end of the shaft, I must have went back to the wheel, one .. too many times . That , or I bent my bracket out too far by .030" (.75 mm) and my little plastic guy was free to go on walk about ... So thats why the bit of (*&%&^(&*$ weld on the stainless TPS switch stand .....

I got rid of all my 1st gen 3.0L stuff years ago. Just no room to keep it all. Nothing really wrong with it. With the Motorola motors out I thought no one would want it.
For a while that was true, but now it seems that everybody gets all excited about the new Merc's coming out .. guys go look at them, find out they double in price every five years (give or take) and they still got the want .. All of a sudden, a rebuilt , blueprinted 3.1L starts lookin kinda purdy ...

Good luck on your side brother ... We'll keep the lights on over here
