Alternative parts for my 2002 225 EFI

Since the hot setup for these motors seems to be 300 ProMax heads with a 300 ProMax ignition ecu and a 250 XB fuel ecu, they have proven difficult to find. Are there any other combinations that are more readily available for my 2002 225 Mercury EFI?

Boats not rated for that. 250 max hp. I'm just looking for a little more performance without going to an all out race engine. It's on a 2001 Bumble Bee 2100 pro sport.

That would likely take care of the ECUs but what about heads. The hot setup being 300 ProMax heads...what about 225 ProMax heads? How do they differ from the 300PMs? Also what about 250 ProXB heads? Just something with a little higher compression without cutting them.

250xb heads would be an improvement over what you have and they can be cut to 300pm specs. I don't believe you can cut the 225 heads to 300pm specs

As I understand the 250 xb heads differ from the 225 efi head in that the exhaust port is filled in? I dunno but that’s what I read somewhere.
