Throttle body synchronization Yamaha 90 2 stroke

I am tuning up my 3 cylinder, replacing worn and broken linkages. The engine has shaved head (150PSI cranking) and carbon reeds. It generally has run well but the CDI went out a couple of weeks back and I am taking this opportunity to tweak up the adjustments.

I have always synced carb linkages by backing off the idle screw and letting them all close to get them in sync. eg. they are all closing to the butterfly limits it the carb bore.

I noticed on this engine that when I do that, full throttle on the master carb against the stop results in the the other two carbs a smidgen off of fully open to their stop.

Looking at the butterflies in this wot position I pretty sure that the stops correspond to flat open. The linkages are all either new or tight, so basically the three carbs all must close to slightly different rotations.

Has anyone ever synced to the "WOT" position. Right now, I am planning on that approach unless it won't idle.

I will appreciate any thoughts and experience.

I had this issue with a yamaha 30hp. I just played with it until it was as good as I could get it. I used a wire to hold the plates in the idle position before locking the screws down. If I did it with them fully closed I lost some of the WOT travel.
