    Scored a new boat.....

Not typical for this site but its a 25 C Hawk. Run a best of 43 with a 225 Honda. I am putting my 3 liter 250EFI on it. Id like to run a 300 ign computer but will that limit me to high test gas or will it still be ok with 87?

Those are great boats.had the 23 and it was a work horse.Had a 150 Johnson on it and it would top out at 40.No frills but very functional and easy to clean. It stayed in the water all the time and no problems.
A friend had a 25 in charter service.Held up to years of hard work.

You can still run regular. It will add a little timing and 6400 rev limit. I have a 98 250 efi that i've run like that for year both on my Challenger, than Superboat and now my Key largo.

Yeah, I've owned a couple of them over the years. They are amazing boats. This is the biggest one I've ever had though.

We just want to something that was easier to take up to the beach with all our crap. My Proline is just not convenient for it, and the Hydra stream isn't going to stay on the lift or in the water.

That's what I was thinking, thanks Mike. I really kicked around just looking for a 300 Promax for it but I don't want to be limited and having a haul gas down the dock Every time I need to fill it up sucks.

That’s awesome! Our work boats down here are T-Crafts. Never thought to race them, but it looks cool!

Yeah work boat racing is a pretty big thing around here.

Ever seen a wooden Chesapeake deadrise plane out? With enough HP the will lol.

Yeah leave the compression alone, we cut tuner, put 300x exhaust plate, solid mounts, lighten flywheel 300pm ignition, left the 250 fuel alone. Made a little over 280 hp on our dyno which is about the same as a 300pm. Pushes the Key Largo to 70 mph. Surprises alot of the multi engine big center consoles down here.

Other then the extra RPM does the timing add any real world power?

I guess with all the mods it adds up but if I took the 300 box off it would only turn 5800-5900 so cant have one with out the other.

Turns a 23p 6300 with 175 gears, Slip is like 10%. Also on a 3 1/2" Slidemaster jack plate which I run pretty high. Has stock LWP but doesnt like to turn cause of height I run. Tends to slip in the turns unless you trim down. Fun boat for down here, honestly I'd rather be in the rough water with the Key Largo than the Superboat

I'm sure with the extra RPM I could turn a smaller prop for better low end and keep the top speed the same by turnin got harder. Curious though if the 300 box mod would allow me to pull the same prop just all the way up to 6400. I'm not going to cut the exhaust or any of that stuff on this motor, it's more of a family boat so I don't need to be pissing everybody off. LOL
