    2000 Mercury 225 PRO MAX

    For sale or potential trade.

2000 model mercury pro max 225. New brucato ecu on 2 months ago. New torque master lower oct/17. Bobs nose cone.
Nothing wrong with this motor. It was on boat when purchased. I am tired of trying to tune this motor to a heavy ranger 520vx. I am a bass fisherman not a speed freak.

Ideally I would like to sell to repower with new motor. Motor is currently on my boat. Motor has been checked thoroughly by a merc tech. Have documents or willing to give you his contact.

I do have a 225. I should have been more clear on what i would potentially trade for. Ideally i was hoping to find a newer/new 4 stroke. the feedback ive been given on this motor is that its made for much lighter boats than mine. I have a 2001 Ranger 520DVX. The likely hood of finding a 4 stroke is probably slim to none. I have priced the new 4 strokes and would use the cash from this sale to purchase new if it came down to it. i am by no means a racing guy. I was pointed to the forum in an effort to find a buyer for the type of motor that i have.

You have come to the right place, those 225PM are hot little motors. Your seems very nice. I would post up some pictures. Also how many hours are on the motor?

I will have some pictures in the next day or two. The boat is in the boat valet right now at the lake while i rebuild the trailer. I am not certain on the hours because we never checked them before pulling the old ecu off. I still have it though, im guessing i could power it up and check. Overall i believe that the motor is very low hours. The person i purchased from owned for quite a few years and did not use the boat much at all. Ive had a certified mercury guy do the work and look it all over. He said the motor is in great shape. I am still servicing the motor as if i were to keep it. I have a prop being BNB right now for it. Hopefully it shows up next week.

I JUST sold my 23 cc with a df 175 susuki 4 stroke. that motor had amazing bottom end, they run a 2;5 gear ratio and rev 6100. ide bet it would drag the pmax backwards. best prop was factory ss. great motor, great mileage quiet as a mouse. that would be my 4 stroke pic. my 2 cts
