I've been hanging the fuel rails and the engine harness by plastic wraps not knowing that all connections were already disconnected from the engine

I put the engine stand under the hoist and started lifting the hoist to remove the engine block. because of the angle of the hoist opposes the angle of the engine stand, the block was not separating the way I'd like it to

sorry for the background mess, its gonna go down to 5* F tonite here in NJ, so I have to do all of the work in my garage

I didn't like the way the block was on an angle as the hoist was pulling up on the block, so I put a jack under the engine stand to lift and thus keep the bolts straight with the hoist

the block came off like butter, just like the way the flywheel came off....like butter

    Good job

    So what's next
    Sending to an engine builder

I found the best way pull studs out block is with vicegrips pliers or pipe wrench

Best way too remove pistons is with front half off one at a time. Please keep rod bolts and cap to its specific connecting rod. Buy some zip lock bag to keep rod bearings and cage together label with sharpie for that cylinder.
There is really no need to measure cylinder bore at this point unless you plan to buy all new pistons and go size above what you have. If you just want repair #4 The machine shop will give you their recommendations once honing work is done.
Just looking at #4 you might get away with honing.
