Mr Baker, I`ve looked at River Daves site and see nothing about the 2018 enduro. Is there someplace else where events, rules, activities and so on are being posted and talked about.

Man that was a long time ago. Great times. The rules didn`t load. Doesn`t matter tho. My boat is still in the paint shop with no end in site. It`s a deal I should not have gotten into.
Doing the enduro one more time is on my bucket list. Mainly so my son can experience it.Last edited by Da Bull; 07-30-2018 at 07:28 AM.

07-31-2018, 06:36 PM #15This is what he told me about 1959 -1960 … on
I can give you a brief history of the boat as I recall. The boat was a built by Howard Abbey in Miami either very late 50's or 1960. There was only one 21' built but about 15 or so 18'. This is tha last boat in existance as far as I know. The boats were built with galvanized screws, so they did not last that long. This boat was 90% rebuilt by Keith Brayer before I got it. I decided to cut the transom off and extend it 3' to make it like the Oh Mona.
The original boat was run by Del and Mona daily for many years in the rear cock pit configuration. The boat ran virtually all of the Gold Coat marathons and at least four 9 hr. races. It won 1 9hr. race and at least 2nd. in 3 of them. One of the 2nd's should have been a first because they passed the first place boat on the back stretch, last lap before the checked flag. The said at exactly 9 hrs. they were in 2nd. ( they got screwed). Over the years they set at least one 5 mi. competition record in the 60's.
I think it was the early 70's that the boat was converted to front cockpit drive.
There was a mold taken off the hull in 1965 and there were quite a few glass versions run including our first front cockpit marathon with a 1964 426 Hemi purchased from Cotton Owens. we converted it from 2-4bbl. to 8 2bbl Hollies. This was the boat that my dad and I crashed in 1966. There was another built from 1968 till it was run into by David Stoller in a 250 mi marathon in Galvaston,Tx.
The original boat continued to be run in the F Service class until the class was done away with in the 80's. The boat was the sold to an individual and ran as a performance pleasure boat until he was murdered in Cocunut Grove. The boat was then sold and converted to an outboard and served as a patrol boat for FIRC. The trail gets a little sketchy after that, but it supposedly
was given to a guy named Scott that worked for Tom Finley. Scott was shot somewhere in Miami and died. As far as I know the boat sat out after that and rotted away.
Let me know whatever else I can send you.
The 2 additional pis's are the first glass boat in the 1966 Gold Coast Marathon. this is the race that Del and I crashed in. The M-3 pic is the boat when my dad first ran it. This was the around Miami Beach race. The boat had four 2bbl's at this time but was later converted to six 2's
It would be hard to say which boat he was in , without showing which boat he comes from . Best I can remember going to the races at Miami Marine Stadium as a kid , they pretty much owned the place .
I'm sure Mr. Fun will be along to post video's soon enough ..
Duff told me in 2000 he built the molds that produced the yellow boat he runs a blown hemi in K class or naturally asperated in GN .
For Parker , it will be the same yellow "GN 333" 540 Big Block Chevy that he led half the 2017 race until the fuel tank split open . This year he has a brand new Mike Stock powertrain .
The GN guys got together last year after the race and one thing led to another and nine guys put in a $6000 Calcutta amongst themselves .. $54,000 winner take all bounty . ( What is it tequila - peyote , out there that makes that many so bold ) LOL
All the still pictures I found of the boat were copywrite protected …
The race starts at 46 minutes into the video …
Mike Hill owner of Buckshot Propellers did a great job of hanging with him in the yellow STV ..
