    That pulls that 34 no problem. I know u always ran smaller on the 300xs with 1.62 and I figured the R would need 34+. The 1.75 Gear needs more wheel all the big blocks go faster if u keep them down near peak power. All the fast guys with 300x prop them to peak around 6350 even though they will turn 7100.

    Would you mind starting a new thread on how this happened and how Mercury takes care of it? I'm sure we are all very interested. This makes me very nervous since my engine is pretty high on the jp and it's usualy rough where I boat (southern CA ocean)

    No one wants to pay $20k to then loose a month of boating while getting things covered under warranty. IMO this is a one off situation thankfully.

    Have a better prop shaft installed. We all want more power so we need to work through the weak the links that come to surface within the process.
