Its already past that. My prediction is 7 faster will be the line on this 21. I predict that we see 132 out of the DW 28 with these motors (within the next six months).

If you start at 310 hp, it would take 370 hp to go 109 and 382 hp to go 111. Probably not coincidence that wildman's 21' liberator/400r went 111. A 300 was never gonna gain 8-10 mph over a 300 unless the first one was 270 and the second was 330.

It was hard rain for a large majority of the time that we were out and I had a decent camera that I didn't want to get wet. I will take the time to get good video when we run it again in the next couple of days.

I think we should leave the motor debate alone for a while and stick to the real performance numbers of this mechanical gift from Mercury. WildMan, do you believe the 300r sacrificed mid range torque with the different cams? Or is there so much it's a who cares deal. I plan on introducing mine to the chop of the Pacific ocean so torque is more of a concern to me than top rpm.

Sure looks aggressive on the 21 liberator. Tall but aggressive. Because of how high it has to run on lots of tunnels it would be nice as mentioned in a 15inch even a 16 inch would get the cowl out of the air flow more.

Ill bet theirs 1 or 2 more mph just getting that cowl down a little on a 21 Liberators Transom. Twin 300Rs on a 25 liberator would look more at home ill bet. Still looks mean though !!

Looks like the onset of carbon monoxide. Gotta pay attention when you got that selectable exhaust open. The fumes! Lol

But seriously, how does the selectable exhaust work?

Even the 24. Some motors were faster on the 24 than the 21 ill bet this is one of them. displacement needs displacement. This motor is so darn impressive!! I hope they are able to keep it going for a long time so there can be aftermarket tuners exploring its limits. Did i read there is a carbon edition? if so does it save even more weight ? i couldn't find anything on LBS for that?

I think you are not considering 4.6 litre to 3.2 litre. Torque can do magic. If the extra torque allows motor to turn bigger prop the mile per hour will go up. HP peak is at a small window of upper rpm. Big torque can work thruout rpm range.

My calculations are based on top speed only, assuming the engine is at its peak power rpm. I am not comparing acceleration rates.
