    You really need this:

You will get 5" of lift with no extra setback. Bolt it to your existing plate...

You could take the jack plate apart and make a taller plate for the engine to bolt to...

Nah,even if i did redirll it with the plate fully raised the prop shaft was still over an inch under the pad, then factor in the 15" setback.I let a buddy drive the boat and i was watching what was going on back there and the prop was just swamped and i was not comfortable with the jack plate fully raised. So instead of just enjoying the boat for the summer,i decided i should spend more money and spend the hot summer days and nights sweating, dirty and itchy in hope's of a few more mph with a safer setup.

I have spent MANY hours the last few nights reading you rebuilt threads and ALL your posts helping people out with repairs (AMAZING job on your boat and i tip my cap to you for how much time you invest helping out) I have a bad feeling for what i am about to find in my transome due to the brilliant idea somebody had to drill a 2" hole under the water line to route the hydrolic lines and harness throught the transome and jackplate......Sure hope your doing some pushups and are well rested, cause i have never attemped a transome repair. So instead of doing what i usually do and part with the boat just to turn around and buy another that needs work,i figured i would just finally learn my way around doing the repair and have the piece of mind knowing it's solid.I spent many years in the high end audio buisness building custom enclosures that always turned out trick....Not sure why i am so timid about attempting a transome repair.

I use silicone for my bathtubs, never on my boats. Haha on the code word for fubar. Accurate description. Voodoo, 1st decision is where to cut. Or if going to split it? Yours could be tricky. But there are many good guys on here to help you....Somehow, I lost the second half of my resto thread? It had some other stuff I did with the boat.. Post up pics and ask questions as you need to.
