My hang up is,i have never used the hydrolic jack except while towing. The setup is 17"s long and puts so much load on those stringers.Does the boat run good as is,sure. But the fact remains, the only reason the previous owner built it like this was strickly for skiing and the motor is set back that far to clear the pole when tilted up.This is what the boat looked like when i got it...Well,this was after a 13 hour resto...It was bleached bad.I see absolutely no reason to have the motor set soooooo far back on a 17' boat.

I'm not really a geek either, But I think the dumb me down phone is the culprit. Because you can rotate the phone and the picture spins is the problem, the websites don't seem to know which way the phone sees the pic. It's happens a lot now that everyone's using their phones to post.

The more I look at the problem, seeing the transom is good, maybe a short mid and a small standoff plate would be the best option. It was mentioned before at the start of the thread. The boat was prob designed for a 15''motor. jm2cts

There is no doubt a 15" mid would do the trick. But for now i think this is my only option for a temp fix.I have a power lift manuel jack plate with 5" setback, then mount these to it.....and down the road these will take no time to remove.I just want to get back out on the water a few times before i move in October. The are some amazing places to boat around here and i am missing it.

15 mid is too short... In my world .... crazzyvillee.... I would just get rid of the 2 peace plate under the power head and you loss 3 inches.... may be 2.5inches but lighter. But you can't do that.... right???

And sooooo much for that idea.I can get it 2" higher, but regardless, the L shaped motor plate will still act as an h20 parachute at cruising speeds.I am starting to see why the original builder did what he did, especially with that Bob's jackplate with the flat plate across the bottom. This is one odd transome !
