Yep, I have seen higher compression numbers than that with failing leak down numbers.

Sorry to hear that man. I looked at that one, as I"m always on the lookout for those gen 1 200XS engines. Something seemed a little off, even in his responses initially. In the end, you're gonna have refreshed sweet and rare engine. I know the feeling of wanting to meet face to face, but rarely is it worth it. Definitely not worth getting in trouble for. If you can get some coin back, might be worth pursuing that. Good luck the rest of the way. They are awesome engines. And you're right, treat people right and it comes back ten fold, treat people dishonestly, and it comes back ten fold.

Well guys, finally got the motor apart tonight and broke it down. #6 had detonated pretty bad ate the sleeve on the exhaust port. Thankfully all other holes are clean, rods are good, along with crank. Hopefully have block machined tomorrow along with the injectors sent out with a parts list ordered to get it back together. Will post some pics of caranage tomorrow. Thankful for Chris & Sam @ Chris Carson’s Marine service for letting me get in the shop on short notice!

I came very close to buying this motor. He was too eager to sell it. Sorry it got you. Hope it works out. I’d have no qualms about driving up there.

That looks a lot like it stuck, came loose, then he ran it on home. Sorry for your pain.
