Having to log in again - please read

    Hi all,

I received two messages from members saying that they need to log into the forums every time to go to the site. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue, but I am looking closely at it and I will have it resolved as soon as possible.

Right now it seems to be very sporadic. I have not been able to reproduce the issue, but I did receive two reports on it today so I want to try to get it resolved whatever the cause, before it becomes a bigger problem. No changes have been made to the site or on the server side so this is a bit odd that it would start happening.

I really appreciate the feedback. If it happens, please let me know here. I'm going to keep hammering on this until it's figured out.

Normally, I would think that's the case. But I need to look at every possibility. I just want to be sure either way.

Not sure if it's the same thing but
That's one I've not seen or heard of yet. Are you using any sort of javascript or ad blocker, or any internet utility? Those can sometimes prevent certain things on any message board from working. The trouble is, there are so many browser add-ons now so it can be difficult to narrow down the issue.

Thank you for the feedback on that - I'm also going to pursue that issue as well.

??? Ok mine might have to do with when it was bookmarked..
I opened closed pages and tabs a few times same thing.

Then bookmarked the page when it said I was logged on
Closed everything then opened new page and opened that bookmark and it says I'm logged on.

I just bought a new laptop. Set it up using Chrome. I log in check the remember box. everytime i leave site for a hour or so it logs me out. I click on user name and it appears below box. I click on password and it auto fills. My old laptop and my desktop at work keep my info in boxes. I just click the log in and go.

That sounds like the exact issue I'm looking into now. Do you know how long this has been happening for?

I use Chrome every day as well and I still have not yet had this issue, so I need to find out exactly why some people might have it and others don't. It should keep you logged in until you log back out. Whatever is the cause, it's something very minor, however I know this issue can become annoying so it's very important to me to resolve it right away.

Thank you for posting about it - every bit of information helps a lot!

    Greg

I have been having the same problem for over a month now, but figured it was due to my Android phone running out of memory, so I just log in every time. It started after I wiped my cookies, deleted internet history, etc to try and free up a little space. When I click on the username it autofills, have to type my password every time. Have not tried from laptop since.

Clearing cookies could definitely fix the issue. Are you still having the issue or did clearing your cookies solve it for you?
