2005 225xs vs 1998 2.5 200 efi with 18787c-4 heads, bobs tuner, 16 amp flywheel and brucato set at 7500 rpms ?

I would prefer the 200. Setup would probably make the biggest difference between the two in top end but the older motor will probably punch harder! The 225xs is probably better mannered and more fuel efficient. For the same price I would probably want to compare leak down #’s before making a choice.

the heavier the boat the xs will start to be better, and the lighter the boat the modded 200 will scream

Loaded down to fish all the time I’d rather have the xs, if you are empty all the time and just want to fly the 200

look for am low hour 2.5xs. built in 2004-6. in stock form on a svt SnF clocked 104 with 4 people on board. i have the 200xs version and its faster than stock 200 and more fuel efficient. i have seen 80 on a HS voyager and can get 7.4 mpg at 40 mpg.
