...I am amused when Gil Marine...or Evinrude/Johnson/OMC, or whoever else, claim they "created" or "invented" the outboard standoff brackets for outboards...such as OMC's Seadrives...

Yup its a worm drive the housing on the outside is the clutch pack. I like the rudes but the stern drive was a pos.

It was anything but reliable. Replacing those trim motors was a pain in the ass.

They didn't last if they used it for trim, rest of the drive was POS as well. Still get the odd person bring one in they found in a barn and want it repaired. Originally Posted by Capt.Insane-o
