YOUR OPINION,? 32' 9'' Eliminator Daytona with Twin Evinrude V-8's,
Just looking for your opinion, I recently purchased a 23' 9'' Eliminator Daytona Tunnel boat from Rex in Arkansas, I love the boat and the motors, Just looking for prop options, Currently running 14'' clevers, and it feels like the props are to small at 87mph, Ya I know there's alote more torque and speed to be had, Like I mentioned earlier, I just got the boat so I've been working on some trim/tilt issues and once that's corrected i'll be looking for more mph, Let me know what your thoughts are, ? ;-)

Only thought i have. Buy a pair of 32p Bravo props. Make sure the are complete with 300xs optimax motors attached. You should run 110mph. After a few hundred hours of running you will have more money left in your checking account VS buying better props for those thirsty v8 evinrudes.

I'm not looking for criticism from other boaters like davemvegas, If you don't have something nice to say ? then don't reply to my question, If you've run these motors back in the old days? or whatever, ? maybe tell me what you had the best speeds with for props,?

Sweet ride! There's still a few of us around running these old hulls. I have a single 400r on mine, used to have twin 300's.
What rpm are you hitting at 87 mph? I'm not even sure what those motors will turn but I have to believe it has 105-110 or more in it.
Those cleavers should work pretty well, though I ran bravo1's on mine when I had twins. There's a board member "Eli" that ran a pair of 2.5's on that hull with cleavers. My current combo hates bravo1's....and I'm pretty sure a cleaver wouldn't carry the bow, so it's not really applicable.Last edited by engineermike; 06-11-2018 at 09:40 PM.

Hello Engineermike, Thank you, I'll check my rpm's next time i take it out, I'm currently having a trim/tilt issue with one motor, should have that resolved by next week, Then I'll put it back on the water and check my r's, and then post it here, Thank You for the POSITIVE reply,;-)

Captain’s, welcome to screamandfly! I have no prop recommendations for you, unfortunately, but like engineermike, I have the same hull.
I’m curious to see where you plan on running your new purchase. Looks like you might be in the Fox River Valley. I run the Fox and Wolf Rivers, Poygan/Butte des Mortes/Winnebago, as well as Big Green Lake and Lake Wisconsin near Sauk City. I’m just finishing up a 4-year Resto on mine, will be on the water in July.
The biggest thing I would caution you on is to make sure the transom is solid, mine was literally rotten to the core and the fiberglass was stress cracking. That’s all taken care of now, but it was a lot of work.
Good luck, and maybe we’ll see ya on the water!
A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

Thank you Hydroskreamin, I just joined and yes, I did alote of boating in fremont with the 42' Fountain, Now I'm thinking to do more boating on Shawano lake, That's where the Eliminator factory was, Shawano, Wisconsin, I remember swimming at the sand bar on Shawano when Eliminator boats would bring one of their new boats to the lake to test run them, Crazyest thing ever to see those MONSTER v-8's hanging on the back of those little boats, that was in the early 80's , And now I FINALLY own one, ;-), Everything ( transom ) is super solid on this boat,

I used to own a 42' Fountain, Reggie Fountain special addition, Triple 525's super charged,Boat held 400 gallons of fuel, and I could run threw that in one afternoon, So believe me davemvegas, I have a great sense of humor because the Eliminator holds ONLY 40 gallons of fuel or about $120.00 to fill it up, Ya, I have a happy smile on my face at ONLY $120.00 for a day of fun, and thank you for you're reply, I'll try to lighten up a little bit,

That’s a cool backstory. It’s pretty neat that you finally own one.
They were built both in Shawano and CA. The Shawano built boats HIN starts with ELI. Mines titled as an ‘87, built in August of ‘87 in Shawano. I bought it in Texas and dragged it back. I’ve always wanted one as well!A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

We need more information like prop size and pitch and what RPM you are turning. Many years ago a local guy ran the same setup on a 23 Daytona with V-8's. His boat would only run 100 mph. Baker Marine helped him set it up. Every time I saw the boat idling I swore it was sinking. The V-8's are really too heavy for that boat.

I would imagine that a pair of v8's would still be lighter than the triple 200's that came on some of these boats, right?
