I had a problem 7.3 once guy put a new silonoid on it. We spent hours testing till someone relized it was the wrong part and didn’t have the bypass.
After all all the problems and checks I lean to the opinion if everything is right one of the things that’s checks right is wrong for the engine.
Something like 200 computer on 150 injection with 175 vst connected with 225 harness or something.

I actually called the people at apex yesterday and talked to a guy(dont remember his name). I'm gonna try to take them out myself and get them to him and we'll see. The thing is no good like it is, so what can I hurt.

And several backyard want to be mechanics . None of them figured it out. I guess all parts were correct and OEM to start with. It always run fine until it messed up the first time. Since then it's always the same

Need to do more swapping parts and less checking and rechecking. Parts can and will check ok and be faulty. It’s a Mercury 2.5, it really shouldn’t be this difficult

Sometimes a "known" good part needs to be tried. Was actually in our Ford shop manuals way back when the first EEC systems came out.
Vibration, hot soak and cool down cycles are tough to duplicate the strange sequence of events leading to your fishing woes, even though it runs great on the hose. Gremlins are always nasty until revealed.
I hope you don't give up, you will eventually win.James H. W2F a V-King... Want 2 Fly a V-King

Did we ever look at the return line? Clogged up : restriction would shoot up pressure and leave it flooded.
