ever take your intake manifold apart?
your fuel rail inside is connected to the outside with 2 pipes using o rings
if they don,t seal properly you get fuel in the bottom cylinders

Hey fellas, haven't been on in a while. Got my mercury back from the forty year mercury mechanic. He kept it for 7 months. It's just like it was when I carried it to him in june/July when ever it was,(lost count). He dont have a clue what it is, but he didn't charge me anything. He did keep his end of the deal. SO!! I am right back at the beginning again. Yes I do realize that he didn't work on it for 7 months straight, (I'm not an idiot) but he kept it for that long ,regardless before I got tired of calling and checking on progress. So I went and brought it home. No I dont really want to sell it. Nobody in their right mind would pay me for what I've got tied up in it,and it still not running like it should. What I really want is it to be fixed but that has not happened yet

    Option 1:

Consider taking it to Chip Harbin, in at Harbin Marine in Woodbridge, VA.

    See https://www.yelp.com/biz/harbin-marine-lorton

They've been around for years, they're honest, and they really know their stuff.

Of course, call 'em up before you make the trek to VA, so that you can talk to him about your problem, and experiences,
but I'm certain that Harbin Marine can fix it.

I'm not sayin' that there isn't someone closer who can fix it also, I'm just sayin' that I don't personally know of anyone! -- which isn't sayin' a whole lot,
since I only know about Merc mechanics in my area.

    Option 2:

Call up Chip at Harbin Marine, tell him that you've got a difficult to diagnose problem with a your fuel-injected merc, and ask him if he can recommend someone closer to you
who he feels is very good, or if not, would it be worth the trip for you to bring it to him and leave it for a while. Chip's a good guy, and he's honest, so I'm certain that
he'll give you a referral if he knows someone he trusts who is closer to you.

    Option 3:

Sell the junk to me, real cheap. Obviously it'll never run right, so I'll make you a generous offer of $1500. (!!!) :-)

It would b lots cheaper to get rid of efi and go carbs , maybe another stator and set boxes ,and it will fix it, but. Capt insano has a complete system with ecu for sale , I'd swap it over(carbs) n heartbeat

Integrity injection / European marine does injectors and they are in North Carolina give Don a call 864-421-0444... I know they do the cleaning and flow testing and such...
Daddy taught me to never force anything but to just get a bigger hammer.
