Stupid on the builders part to not add a layer or two of glass over the holes.. That really Irks me, simple step could ruin a good boat. Most people don't want foam in their boat but if you seal it properly it should never get wet. Here is my boat, the holes you see are plugs cut from the floor for plugs to to mount seat and tank. what you see in the picture is the bottom layer of glass on the floor notice there is no hole. Its completely sealed and the plugs will get glassed in also. Unfortunately most builders cut corners and it sucks for the owner when the boat gets filled with water and gets heaver, makes a restoration inevitable.

Some builders leave the holes open on purpose. The foam produces gasses for some time and their production schedule is so fast it will be a problem to cover the holes and not let them vent. Not good, but it appears yours are dry.

oh mine? mine was all wet. I tot I was going to be the one in a million of Vegas XT that would be dry since the boat was not in use, but it was left out in the open field uncovered

but put it this way, if they built the boats right, we won't have our projects to do, doh...kidding

My bad, I didn't read or look close enough. One boat mfg I worked at we glassed over the pour holes the same day. The foam boxes would blow out the laminate somewhere. Ended up just gell coating over the foam to stop MOST of the water coming in.

after studying the angles involved from the exploratory hole I made, I was able to cut the stringer and the foam in special angles that lessened my scooping of wet foam

see the angles of the cuts
