Yeah but considering the time and effort in doing a project like this yourself? Its a nice treat and added bonus to buy top quality materials because the end cost is still a fraction of farming it out to a shop. I like the look of that product and its not soakable with water correct? I am looking forward to seeing this come together for ya. I love these resto threads

.
it can still soak in water, I've heard very small like 2 to 4% water intake
no bugs can penetrate it
and is great for transoms because of weight and non-compression characteristics when you apply pressure like big bolts to hold your motor.

I've decided to listen and follow many of the suggestions that were made here, to complete the hull bottom work and not do it in pieces as I originally planned
with that I will remove the deck to complete the work that I am planning
can't have a 4 inch transom and the rest of the boat is only 3/8" pure glass
to remove the deck, need to remove these rivets, then cut the glassed-over deck to hull seam

Wise plan imo. One thing Ive learned over the years is once you start driving a project? Thats the best condition its ever in and once a half built project begins to deteriorate it is ten times harder to muster the will and desire to tear it up again and try and rekindle the passion to do the work. The key imo is to visualize the finishing of the project from the outset and literally see yourself polishing the gel after its all fully restored. Then back up your plans from there to where you are now visualizing each phase. This sure helps me get things done, but it also keeps me from starting too many projects at once. Hopefully this is of some help to ya
Stay on top of it and don't put unrelated items on or in the boat during the restoration phase. In my experience once you start decorating projects with clutter? Its allllll overHydrostream dreamin

Truer words never spoken.
I am Guilty of this for sure.
But the boat can hold so much Junk.... "I'll just set this in here until I ......."
At least the curvy deck on the V-King makes for a crummy work bench .....James H. W2F a V-King... Want 2 Fly a V-King

my boat does become a storage bin during the winter months, but that's only because it's still in its "raw" state
I removed all of the junk that accumulated on it, and now its clear and allows me to work on it better

Truth be known I do keep mine "exposed" because if it gets buried it's out of sight and out of mind.
I work on it in spurts.....Seems like when I find enough time to work on it my Honey adds something to my Do list. I have a wonderful wife and stop my stuff to do hers. That's just good politics .... for me anyway!James H. W2F a V-King... Want 2 Fly a V-King
