Haha when I lived in Canmore used to take my Cougar to Lake Minnewanka all the time never said nothing but was before 2001. Had a few wardens try and catch up to us on the lake, would go back and forth all day as long as you don't look at them no need to stop. When we were leaving would lead them to the furthest spot from the ramp, run wide open to the ramp and have the boat loaded in the parking lot before they got back.

Theres good 2 stroke snowmobile oil out there at will work good. The Klotz rep. told me the only dif between there boat formula and sled formula is the sled mix has a low temp pour agent in it. So he said you can pour the sled oil in your boat, but don't pour the boat oil in your sled. Same oil. 2 stroke sleds are still going strong with a lot of the guys that try the 4 strokes end up back on 2 strokes. Most the new models with good power are now around 850cc and 160-170 hp stock 2 cylinder. But they are leaning them right out for the EPA. We run 150:1 in our tanks to help lube the intake side of the pistons on top of the oil injection.

I think u will see that in the smaller hotrod boats too... once they blow up a 30k 4 stroke and cant rebuild it with a simple bore job and some pistons they will be wishing they had a 2.5 or 300x...In the future the stv/ allison crowd will most likely revert to the ways to like it was when I was a kid when most everyone built their own stuff from stock fishin motors. I like where brp/rotax is going with some of the other power sports. I was thinkin one of those 850s on a little 45ci omc mid with a speedy would be really bad ass..

My 2.5 1998 200 EFI still runs perfect, but I like the new tech too. As weight gets close, the 4 strokes have some benefits. I've beaten a dead horse saying the 4cyl four strokes can make 200 and 225 HP easily and check in at about 440 Lbs. The 250R and 300R are awesome.
My little 4 cyl 150 four stroke gets over 10 MPG on my Allison.

I think when you have an old premix outboard people are going to look at you like you're a huge polluter and loser when you launch your boat... kind of like when you used be able to smoke in restaurants

I used to get a lot of nasty looks when I fired up my Promax at the launch in the spring with a big cloud of fogging oil smoke
