21 paramount twin engine
I’m new to this forum and I have a 21 paramount the I’m restoring I know it sounds absolutely crazy but I think it would be super cool to reinforce the transom and put twin Merc 2.5 liters. Anyone ever done it before?

twin 2.5's might be too heavy

Personally, I'd go with a single 300XS

Belt line on that 26 isn't on the black hull.

would it be better to mount them right on the transom or on a small braket

a bracket will give you addition buoyancy that you will need for the extra weight

If you do it you wont want scuppers. Mine get a wet deck with a single.
I have a 300 Promax and have run 72mph where it starts chine walking. I know there are some faster but Im not sure what kind of work has been done to the bottom. Its not a particularly fast hull even though it looks fast. It has a weird notch/transition thing that really makes them run flat.
Could the black one in the pic above be a 25 Action? The Action is faster.

21' Paramount

I was thinking it was an older model 26 Paramount (I worked for Sundance and we got one of the first ones, it didn't have a liner and I don't remember the belt on it) but could be wrong, but that black one is too long to be a 21 Paramount, so could be a 25 Action...... or something else.

The black on IS a 21 paramount. I remember reading the thread. The guy sold the project before he finished it. I have a buddy that has a 21 with 175 evinrudes. It planes off before you see the prop wash.
