Marine slang everyone should know...
Everyone who's been on a boat more than a few weeks knows the normal Maritime terms, but us HP boaters have some of our own slang terminology for other boaters that everyone should know... Different groups may have slightly different terms but below is what I and the people around me use fairly regularly. Feel free to add any that you don't see.
Broke Boater - Scabs together anything they can to get on the water, most times an old rotten bass boat with a big twin or triple cylinder OMC belching blue smoke everywhere. Can also be a booze cruiser or pontooner.
Basshole - Any high dollar bought off the showroom floor bass boat. It always "Does 80 with 3 bubbas and a full tourney load" and no matter how many different ones you see, the place you're anchored is always "My fishin hole, and you can't be anchorin there"
Booze cruiser - Usually seen poking along the river in an old bayliner or similar with too many people on board that have had too many "adult beverages". When contacted their first comment is "Hey, want a cold *piss weak american lager* bro?"
Creek cricket - see: River roach. Both a close relative to the "Mud cricket" known in 4x4 circles...
Lake lice - Jet skiers. Hard to get rid of, can be bothersome. Secretly you want to take a rip on their ski though cause you know that chit is fun.
Lake fly - see: lake lice.
Pontooner - Most of the time a variation of the booze cruizer, but can also be a broke boater depending on how new the "tooon" is.
River runner - We don't have time for you, we want to make it to the springs 30 miles up river before all the booze cruisers and pontooners clog it up.
River roach - most of the time a divorced middle aged woman with fake tits, straw "lake hat", too much sun, drunk, and will hop from boat to boat drinking "beers" or any other kind of liquor they can get their hands on. Do not at any time under any circumstances feed them hard liquor, however. They are already extremely dehydrated and drunk, and you will have a HUGE problem on your hands. You have been warned.
WAFI - Wind Assisted F*cking Idiot. Sailors. Oddly enough almost never seen under sail power, but they always say "I'm a sailboat I have right of way!!" even though when under power (even that 9.9 35" shaft tiller OB) they are considered a powerboat.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

I've got a few but it's a pg13 board.
Turd Churner is probably my favorite. The over weight, under powered 26 plus foot cruiser that plows along off plane ruining the water for everyone else and swamping everyone parked on the Sand bar. But still friendly enough to wave at you as they go by with their five foot wake.
