1 Piece Adapter Woes
I was pretty sure I did my homework on doing the 1 piece offshore adapter on an steel sleeve 2.5. Drilled the drain holes, plugged, drilled to 15/64. I'm getting next to no water out of it. Took an heat gun to watch head temps as I'm attempting to seat rings on a new build, and in gear, under load, low exhaust temps (280/300) it's just not pumping water. I double checked my gauge with the gun, and thank god I did as it was off. One bank 150 and rising, the other almost touched 200 and I shut it off. Do I pull the powerhead and run new plugs with smaller holes? I didn't do anything with the poppet valve per what I've read. I am running t-stats but those should have opened and cooled the motor down if water was making it up that high. I'm a little frustrated and wondering what I'm overlooking.
Thanks guys-Dustin

Once you switch to a 1-pc. plate I'm pretty sure you have to run washers instead of stats

All or nothing. Race cooling on a steel mota usually isn’t the best idea though...

1/8" stainless steel fender washers are good for a start. They just slip right into the thermostat rubber ring. Remove poppet guts. The washers will sorta regulate water pressure now too. I believe I use 5/16" washers because at over 7k your looking at 40 to 50 psi with 1/8"
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Quarters fit in there too, drill your own holes...

Diverters installed, poppet removed, went smaller holes on the plugs I installed in the exhaust adapter (1/8”) and hooked the hose up. Started it up (I was in a hurry to run an errand, and found the weep hole I. The popper cover to fill and remembered I didn’t change out the t-stats with quarters yet. I’ll get it done tonight after the kids are in bed and after I do the work I put off doing during the day haha. Updates tomorrow
Much appreciated guys. At any event hit me up and a beer comes to you.-Dustin

one thing to consider is that tha marles coolin' mod stuff is for steel sleeve motors ona one piece.. you can get some control of tha pressure with size holes in tha adapter and/or restrictin' discharge from poppet hose...……
but like "rat" says tha diverters are very important...……...

Some misinformation going on here.
200XS ROS runs a one piece exhaust plate. Iron sleeves, poppet valve with thermostats and works great.
Thinking something wasn’t correct in your set up.
