    Best Gauges?

    Best gauges?

I have a set of new AutoMeter gauges that have the orange needles and have already faded to pink in a few months. They also fog so bad in the evening they are not useable. AutoMeter wants me to send them in for repair which seems ridiculous. My boat will be down for 2-3 weeks with no gauges and honestly I have zero faith that what I get back will be any better. All four gauges did the same thing so its not an isolated issue with a bad seal or something on one gauge.

Im thinking of just ordering all new....again. Its my understanding that Livorsi is the same crap as AutoMeter so this time Im asking before buying.

My 7 year old Teleflex gauges look like the day I put them in so I am just do that with some bezels to doctor them up.

I've always had good luck with Teleflex, Faria and Sierra gauges. Your gonna have an occasional problem with all makes but I've never even heard of Autometer...have heard of Livorsi but not experience with them.

I have Livorsi gauges in my boat and love them. I needed some technical advise and Marty at Livorsi was more than happy to help.

Its my understanding the new Livorsu and Autometer are the same gauge with the same problems.

I don’t know about ties between Livorsi and Autometer, but I do know that Autometer specializes in automotive gauges (as the name suggests). I guess there may not be anything special about their marine gauges other than the name...

Never heard anything bad about Livorsi but I don’t have any personal experience either! I’ve never had a problem with Teleflex or Faria fading or leaking/fogging...

Livorsi seems to be working great for me. Gotta love the GPS Speedo, no more tubes, breakage or holes in transom. They also have alot of orher gauges that match. Like more than the standard 5 gauges. Bezels, angled bezel. Tons of do dads
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Check out Speedhut gauges. They are not "marine" rated but i have had no problems with them. They can put a small amount of silicone around the bezel to help keep water out. The best thing is that they are highly customizable. I was even able to get them to make an "Oil Level", "Cyl Temp", and "Trim" gauges. Prices are also much cheaper than Livorsi. I can take some picturees over the weekend.

My Livorsi gauges have been wet but I never had any moisture inside. I have the race style, chrome ring with white face. They light up red at night.

I think you can get a separate tach recall module from Autometer. Should work with any tach I think...

    Speed but gauges

Here are a couple pictures taken at dusk. I cannot recommend speedhut gauges enough.

Ive been using the autometer carbon fiber background pro-comp marine gauges with silver needle with no issues whatsoever. Hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself but so far no fading or fogging/moisture issues.
