casale split case 12'
hello brother boaters.iam new to v drives and need help to interpit the numbers on the gears I have.i have two sets the first reads 3.90 29T 1.48 LH and 43T 3.90 1.48 LH heres the second set.27T 8.78 1.63 12'and 44T 8.78 1.63 12' can anywon tell me about these gears I need to buy a prop what gears do I need for a lot of torq thanks for the help

LH means "Left Hand" over or the gears are machined for left hand rotation. 12' likely means 12 degree gears.
The 29T and 43T represent the number of teeth on the gears. 1.48 is the overdrive ratio with the 43 tooth gear on top.
43 divided by 29 = 1,4827 Or 48 % overdrive
Similarly the other set 27T and 44T are the number of teeth. 44/27 = 1.6296 or 63% overdrive.
I have no idea what 3.90 or 8.78 represents.
