Best Closed Deck Action Marine Hull size

Son is looking at the Action Marine closed deck boats. Some people say that the 17 is prone to flying over and some say the 20 is the one to watch out for. What size is the most stable. He has seen a few 17’s cheap and I want to steer him in the right direction. No experience in these boats. Any help would be appreciated.

Ive owned the 17,18 and 20. They are all very sensitive with the positive trim. You can easily fly the nose high at will and they can go over yes but you deff need seat time before trying to run top end. The 20 is very easy to carry the nose at any speed over 45 with an extra bump of the trim. You would think the extra weight it has would keep planted more but the 20 gets flighty without any effort. Hope this helps. The actions are kindof self teaching hulls in a way to people that have no experience with a small pad v. Most people cant get them over 60 at first because they havent learned how to balance the boat on the pad yet. Once you've learned to hold it on the pad then your getting a good feel for the hull and what it wants to be happy Hope this helps

IMO,,I had a 19' ACTION...kind of hard to find anymore...with 2.5 MERC OFFSHORE ran 90+ anyday...was great in the So Fl chop, and very forgiving ride...the new 18' might be a little faster but I like the ride better with 19'...great boats either way..

So the 17’s are not prone to flipping? He has passed on a few 17’s since he had heard they are real flighty. Good to hear.

Actions are not prone to BLOWOVER....It's the drivers who can't resist pushing the button one more time.....

Fastest Action ever was a 16, so........

they will all go over. They will also all run fast if you keep them flat.

My 17 has been good, but I have nothing to compare it to Action wise.

Talk about a late response. Just finishing up my 21 Action CC. What do the 18’s run with a 2.4 200. Son is looking desperately for one. We have the motor already.
