3.4 racing motors
Yes going for the big an ugly....heavy low reving junk. Thinking hey why not. Got lots of them. Cossys are lighter.EFI fronts are lighter. More reed area than a 3.0 to boot.lots more. Same rods.... only better. Not nuff holding bolts holding so will fix. Mains are bigger. Crank is heaver... cut. Has anyone ever went beyond where Merc stopped? 3.4 need stuffing. Rods need grinding. Will a 3.0 lower hold up? Thinking the 3.0 mid for less weight and lower C/G. Thinking 12 pack for less 12 volt draw. And I like Jets over EFI. Ta DA.... dave.

Hey Dave S, It's not quite a 3.4 (3.3) but it is up to the task at hand. I went old school vs a OMC V8, and getting just as much HP and torque. Has Dave Bush's sleeve / piston kit, Yammaha ignition, Taylor x-Fronts with EFI or CCC carbs, and adapted to a CCC mid and gearcase. Light and powerful - Dave estimates approx. 450 hp and 350 torque. Getting real close to finding out what I have here.

Roger H...... looks good. I am a Merc guy but think the CCC was the coolest. OMC allways did cool stuff. The 3.0 looper is smaller lighter than the 3.4.... should whoop the 3.4. I just going to play with the Big Dog. Just want something different. Thanks.

No pics yet still rattleing in the skull. Looking at the parts and how they will fit together. There was a guy on another thread that mixed a EFI with a crossworth 3.4. Will post as chips fly.

Sure wish we could find three 3.4's to put this beast back together. The exterior wood isn't pretty for sure, but the structure is in pretty good shape. The weird part is the boat is COMPLETELY rigged as it sits. Looks like they took the motors off and left everything as it was. The picture isn't very good, but this is TEXMO at the Clayton NY (Antique Boat Museum) in 2016.
