    Gen 2 Verado's on a cat!!!!

Does anybody know the pros and cons of trying to run gen 2 Verado's on a 30ft. Cat. I love the Verado's but just don't know if it is worth spending the time and money rigging them if they don't work.. Just looking for any info at all on this subject.. And no I can not afford the 400r's..

I seem to remember someone having issues with the steering on twin Verados? Maybe the specified helm from Merc really isn’t up to the task? I imagine a pair of 300 Verados would push that hull nicely. There’s a pair on eBay that look pretty cheap (11 or 12k I think), no idea if it’s a good deal or not...

There are a couple guys that have run them. You have to line up a nose cones for them. PM me if you want a phone number to one of the guys that have them on his skater and he will know all of the pitfalls and solutions that he has dealt with.

A good friend Cody shared this pic with me. The lowerunit cones as JPEROG indicated are an important part to run big numbers and height adjustment

I would recommend getting the 350/400 style midsection to help keep the engine more stable. I know there is a guy here local that has a pair on a 24 skater, but not sure how it runs

edit: just noticed the pic that noli added is probably that boat

Jason Wolf did those. I’m pretty sure they’re Bob’s with the tops lopped off and the water passages blended...

There's a guy on the St Johns River here that has a 25 Liberator being built with a pair of 400's. He ordered it from Texas, so who knows how it will run. It does have the centerpod, so the weight should not be an issue.

    Well,
Put the money down and I'm going to pick up 2 Verado 300's this coming weekend. Guess I am on a hard learning curve on how to hang these on a cat.. Keep the info coming... Especially about those nosecones, they are an integral part of this project!! It's that or I try to fit some transom mounted pickup's.. I want to run high pitch surfacing cleavers on the HD lowers, I like the big bearing large propshaft set up for reliability even if it scrubs off a couple mph (I have blown a few lowers on my 2.5's)
