V8 the v6 lower swap.
I 've got a good coned lower fron an 88 275 V8, 20". Will this bolt onto a 93 225 20" mid and powerhead?
TIA

Yes it will. The V8 case is 3/4inch taller from top flange to prop shaft.

As Tim mentioned it will fit but the 92 and newer V6 has a different seal for drive shaft to crank and thus uses a different length drive shaft. Thus it needs an upper shaft change but the 88 unit should be a 1 piece shaft so can not be done meaning you will need to modify the one in it. You will also need to get a shift rod from a 25 inch V6 and cut rethread with the extra length, you maybe able to grind the edges of the V8 shift rod to get it in will depend some on shape of you mounts. You will not be able to use the 3 inch exhaust snout from mid to unit.

I guess the best idea is to pull the V8 lower off and compare it to my spare V6 unit. Thanks for the input guys.
