The 400 has a very small wing plate and i think the ram which is included in the sale of a 400r is part of the total weight of 400r. Also the 400r does not have an external trim pump. The actual weight of the motor and accessories is a discussion... I did move the batteries from stern to front bulkhead. I also went from 4 blade to 5 blade to increase stern lift... In answer to your question i dont feel a real upset in CG... I dont beat the boat in heavy seas. So i can not give you that feedback... Im a 1 to 3 seas person. If you asked me do i regret putting 400s on the boat... My answer would be... I regret not doing it years ago...
Classic, just be careful, having owned a 28’ Skater with 300xs’s and 300x’s my boat had the batteries and trim pumps up front. The issue is not so much how it runs it is how it flies if you get airborne. It is a cool ride but there have been some much bigger boats blow up and either flip or almost flip. At a speed over 100mph especially past 120 it will happen with no warning. Keep that thing tucked in and do not try and fly it for the last few MPH. Hoping to try and make an appearance on Saturday for the run. Looks like you all will have a few Skaters down there to play with!
