Let me know if you are 5K confident or 10K confident. I am fine with either one. Like I said Crystal Cove Hotel "where we all be staying", to Silver Glen, and back. Take a look at the map and let me know-this is a river run and lake crossing, not a drag race.

Ahh Stu I'm glad your from the other side of the tracks , err , bridge . He sold a 280 when he built that 15" 300 or 3.2x that's on his STV . Lots of people made that swap after they followed Brent's yellow STV /X boat a few years ago .
But that doesn't really matter right now . We were talking about mid size cats . New cats with old tech 2 strokes vs old school cats with mid tech 4 strokes . And it will even be fun to see what happens with the latest versions of the 4 strokes and where they fall in line behind … well you know .

In Miami they called it "the ol bluff" in Ft Pierce it's "buyin out the race" .. just go ahead and put $1,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 on it , that way you wont need to go openin up the door needlessly ….

    With my diverticulitis ….

OK , so back to reality for a minute .

What does a new ( or old ) 28' Skater weigh . Not a super light striped out race boat , but one with oil bags , normal batteries , radio , ropes , cooler , anchor , rubber baby buggy bumpers , ect … ????

Sitting on a trailer ( hanging from scales ) Ready to add power .

The 28' I rigged was 2200lbs out the door with paint/seat shells no rigging.
I would say David's 3950 is pretty much spot on. We figure Bob's boat to be around 3800lbs minus fuel. Everything else all in.

    Double
    Rigged
    308 Skater w/400r’s

    Two &^%$^&* tons ... it's those pear tree's fault ... LOL

All that stuff add's up quick … I remember rolling across the scales in my rear engine dragsters .. 1850 , 1880 , 1940 lbs with different set ups , thinking .. a &^$%$^ ton , there is no way this junk weigh's a &*^$$% ton .. but I guess it really does.

If people can really run the numbers they claim ( at that weight ) then it speaks well for the hull and propellers efficiency using 300 - 330 hp as a parameter .
