Sorry, I can't help myself with my one sided opinions. ....yes, boat looks badass and runs . But, I'm sure many here like me would rather see some Diamond 2.5's pushing. That'd be certified boat porn!

Yes it is but there were actually two before that one which is the 3rd of 5 underway. The next 28 will be a widened one with wrap around windshield and 400s.
My friends 28 below is the one that brought the molds out of moth balls and was the first 2018 since Taboma’s boat I believe. We rigged this one with brand NEW 300x motors that were converted to 15”s.

Where are the other 22 of them ?
Have they paid inventory tax on them since 2005 ?
What are their plan's for the remaining inventory ?
if your the right person or have the right contacts
Who would you have to know ?
And of course , how much are they ...
P.S. elaborate for John ... after all , he asked first ....

i don’t own a 28 but spent a lot of time in 2 28s w 300x’s n 2 with 280s the boat just felt better balanced w 2.5s over the x’s n there’s prob 75 pounds each motor give or take. The 400s weigh 668 pounds compared to 485 i believe on the x’s. haven’t been in the boat w 400s but if it’s not faster there a lot more $ n a total of 350 pounds more. u can feel a difference w the extra 150 cog n balance wise. 350 more on top of that seems a lil overkill and in that pic of the first boat sitting in the water while no doubt a gorgeous boat is sitting much lower than x’s n 280s i think the wider one will carry those monsters better. the comment about the availability of the 300x’s new was more of a joke than anything else idk how many new x’s mercury or any dealer has. but considering they stopped being made 10 years ago that’s quite a score getting a new set. meant no malice or disrespect to merc the owner or anyone else just quite a score getting new 10 yo motors. as far as price i’d say priceless. as far as who u have to know was a joke. who knows someone with deep pockets could have just bought a few pairs when they were discontinued that would be my guess but who knows but that’s the best setup on a 28 skater. there is no obvious “design flaws” w the 400s it’s just power to weight basic math. also how much hp is the real # on the x’s you hear anything from 320-335+. just a hot setup my guess is good as yours as far as how u get new x’s. might b the last 2 on earth who knows the # 24 was just a pun. Whoever has new ones there worth whatever someone’s willing to pay i guess i know nothing more than you but meant no offense to anyone. i apologize if anyone took it in negitive light. your guess is as good as mine. that’s why they made 318 “specifically for the new 4 stroke mercs” balance is key. w 400 the cog is prob in the bilge lol
