does anyone believe in hull speed? it’s prob 125. just like a 318 skater is faster than a 308. don’t make sence another example is the 28 is as fast if not faster than a 24. just air geting under hulls

Has anybody stretched the legs on a 21 and got a top speed with 260's or 280's or drags? Just curious what they'll run.

I believe Buzzing Dozen (Jeff) has run 127 with a 34P with his 260s, and Todd Lamb has been in the low 130s with drags

maybe so but i’ve been in the boat 2 people n 3/4 tank n it was going well over 120 me 175 and 40-50 gallons of gas that around 300 or more added weight. we all know how weight sensitive these boats are. you have to add 2-3 at least w 450-500 extra pounds maybe more. i mentioned the 28 is as fast if not faster than a 24 skater. more air under the hull faster it will go. i think the fastest 24 was 122-123 at loto. i’ve been 120 in a 28 with 2 people some gas and a lot of gear wasn’t gunna get a good number we expected 118 tops and it went faster. the longer outboard cats on the small end, bigger seems to b faster, but i also been in 21 skaters w a single x n went 110 if my memory serves me correct. i would love a 24 w 2 screws but it’s not in the budget rn. but the 28 is by far my fav in the >30 cats but it’s 2x as much as a 24 being equally nice i would love a 24 though i don’t gotta set any speed records 105-110 would b plenty fast n i’d rarely go that fast. that being said a 21 w twins w probably out run the 24 n 28. i’m sure others have had diff experiences n no 2 boats are exactly the same being custum built. just speaking from my experience

the 21 rocks you to sleep. i know of 2 offshore racers one a world champ both rold 21s never heard of a24 or 28 doing that. a few years back on speed on the water peter said he would start from scratch n make a 24-25 w 250xs’s for around or under 100 k. that would b a hot setup and i’m sure a new build 24ish would b faster than the old 24. but seems like it’s not gunna happen. if he could build that at that price point it’s cheaper than a 24 tuff w a single. not including the exchange rate
