I will get you some pictures of the 2 little fittings today.
The hose ends I use on all my hoses are -4 JIC for trim and -6 or -8 for steering.
Mercury makes their stuff unique and some extremely hard to duplicate so we need to work around them....
I also agree, many shops unless they have done it already or want to take the time to figure things out, they will most likely say.....sorry we do not have what you need.

Over the years people have asked me how I catch so much fish. I've always answered- just hit them with your wallet!

3/8 x 24 is what they’re calling on the clamp side in that thread. Trace did you ever find the part numbers to those factory lines?

I inquired yesterday but so far no answer. I also tried to find them in the Merc part locator but they aren't there, at least I couldn't find them.

So I had a few minutes to search. Called a local shop that does hydraulics and asked for a 3/8x24 to a -3AN adapter, nodda. I don't get it. This is what I should be looking for no?

On one side I'll have to go with a union as well but am I on the right track?

Ok, let me see if I can help you.
You are going from the trim pump to the 2 stainless lines on the saddle bracket correct?
post a picture of what you have if anything on the pump and I will get together what you need.

Showing 2 different type hoses but both have the same ends.
I most times run bulkhead fittings, use the black rubber inside the boat and stainless outside.
Also just find that it is worth a few more $'s to get the correct parts the first time.
I'm sure many place in the country carry or provide the correct stuff.
Moreland Hose is locally to me so they are my go to shop.

This is where my problem has been, trying to get hoses to this. The pump side is handled.

Unfortunately Mercury does not make things easy so some fitting are needed as you can see.
The good things is, once you have the setup done/together you can change a mids/engine/saddle bracket easily.
If you still have a problem finding things but have -4 JIC ends on hose I'll send you the fittings to make it work to the saddle.

Update, I got the 7/16x20 double flare union from the local parts store, easy. The local hydraulic places are worthless. I ended up getting the double flare to jic fittings from Pegasus racing in their brake section. Spendy, but better than nothing. I'm sure they can be found for cheaper, but having ordered from them before, I know what I'm getting.

Anyway I really appreciate all the info and will give the final update once I receive everything and get hoses made. I even contemplated ordering them online just to spite the local idiots. I can't believe how difficult the whole process has been. Thanks again Tux!
