    Grounding through the hull correct?

I have an aluminum hull with a 150 hp outboard. I disconnected the battery, both pos and neg terminals, and my meter shows continuity between the neg battery cable and the hull. Is this correct? Should the outboard ground the negative side to the hull? I searched S&F, but didn't see that this had been answered before. I also found a diagram on Westmarine.com that shows an inboard block grounded through the negative terminal bus, so maybe my setup is correct, but I wanted to double check.

Any metal to metal contact will carry a current. You are grounding thru the mounting bolts and even the steering, throttle cables.

The battery ground wire appears to go straight to the block on the outboard, and of course the block of the outboard is grounded, through the mounts, to the hull, so I think it is as it should be.

its exactly the same as a car, neg earth.
anything metal on your boat that is attached to the motor is earthed.. its perfectly normal and is correct.
