    yamaha v6 tacho problems

Hopefully someone can shed some light on my current issue, Ive swapped dressed powerheads from a 1984 yam v6 to 1993 yam v6, everything works perfectly apart from the tacho, I've tested the tach feed wire from the plug on the loom where it plugs into the cdi to behind the dash where the tach plugs in and its fine, tried 2 tachs witch are both known to work and neither give a reading, tried 2 stators and it makes no difference, I'm wondering if the issue is within the hitachi cdi, although this seems a very long shot, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction, has anyone suffered a similar issue, any help is much appreciated, cheers
    Andy

Think the1984 to the 1993 is very different would be my guess.
