    Super Mag 225

very low time 1996 Super Mag 225. The motor has no known issues and is about as unused as one is likely to find. A friend of mine bought this motor for himself in August 2016. The backstory on the motor was that it was on a very lightly used bass boat that had been stored inside for its entire life. The belief is that this motor had less than 100 hours on it at that time. Looking at the motor, he and I both believe this to be true. Of course, there is no computer on these motors to confirm this. The oil injection had never been removed. The motor looked like new and it had never been opened up.

A few days after he purchased this Super Mag, the ProMax 225 that I have on my Vegas XT blew up.I needed a motor while my ProMax was down for a rebuild. My friend told me that I needed the motor more than he did and offered to sell the motor to me and I bought it. The oil injection was removed at that time. I do have the oil injection system if wanted. I used the motor for the remaining 2 months or so of the 2016 season and a few times on nice days in the winter of the 2017 season. (I live in Boone, N.C. so winter offers little boating weather in these mountains.) I estimate that I likely put a total of about 30 or 40 hours on the motor. My ProMax was completed in February 2017 and we put it back on the Vegas XT. This Super Mag was taken off and I have kept it as a spare. I have now decided to sell it.

I put it back on the Vegas XT last week so that it can be demonstrated to prospective buyers. I will gladly take it to a nearby lake to show it. The current compression readings are 128,128,131,130,130,131.Lower unit fluids were just changed and the water pump serviced and anew impeller installed.

I will sell it with or without the lower unit. The lower unit is the one that came with the motor; CLE with Bob's cone and pick up added.I have used the lower unit a few hours on another motor, so it does have a little more time on it than the motor. I estimate about 25 or 30 hours. The price including the lower unit is $6200. If preferred, this motor can be purchased without any lower unit for $5200. I prefer not to ship, but may consider it.

I thought that jewel looked familiar from the lower. Nice motor from several reputable guys.
