Really doing a great job on this! Looking at all the pictures is hard to keep in mind that this is only 13' long. It looks much bigger by the way you are building it. Great work !

What are your plans for this boat that you need so many bulkheads, or are you just showing off your wood working skills????

Mainly stregnth, will support the floor better, this boat is being somewhat over built as it will be used out in the ocean and if it turns out the way I'm hoping will cross from South Florida to Bimini like we do on the jetskis, I'm using h80 and is so light it will barley add much weight so I figure why not, if rather have the extra stregnth and rigidity, it's also going to get 3 gussets on each side that tie the deck to the cap and both will be glassed together, so it should be strong light boat. This boat will be replacing my jetski, we do 100mile runs In the keys so I don't want it to fall apart, it gets pretty rough around here sometimes, that's why I picked this hull to begin with, it's excellent in rough water for it's size.should be alot more comfortable than my ski.

That boat is gonna be very cool. If you plan on jumping it often plan very carefully for weight placement when rigging.

I dont plan on jumping it intentionally, but i will be in the ocean when its calmer, so im sure it will come out of the water sometimes but the battery will be upfront, fuel cell will be right behind the seat. Prob 10-12 gal not sure. I know its defiantly ass heavy. the boat is very light as it sits easily movable with 2 people just nothing to grab in the front right now makes it tricky.

hello Twzted,
I am coming in a bit late on your thread, but I haven't looked in the fibreglass/composites discussion for about a year. Last time I was in here there was a battle of egos being waged and it turned me right off. Just had a quick look through your thread and you have a nice project. That is a sweet looking boat and you have done some nice work. Maybe I missed something but what do you intend to do in these areas?

Well thanks for stopping by, the back and the front of the stringer will be glassed closed with a bulkhead on both sides and capped off, possibly then filled with foam, i plan to keep the knees just the way they are, the floor fits around them perfectly, I wanted them to go as far forward as possible without sticking out past the top deck, i like the idea of extra support with the added legnth. Debating adding foam under the whole floor between alll the bulkheads and whatnot to add more rigidity and strength tieing everything together, this boat will always be garage kept and never left in the water so water intrusion shouldn't be possible if we glass everything really good and seal it all up.
this is the floor cut out around the knees, the bulkhead wuill be glassed to the back of the stringer and then to the floor, the very back square will be left open a sa bilge are for water to drain into, also where a bilge pump will be.
Got the boat sitting on the trailer much better, only hangs off a few inches but i flipped the bunks around and the bunk goes right to the edge of the bottom of the boat. Plenty support, im waiting on a bow roller for the front of the keel and a " Y " bow guide for the winch. Also orderd some bunk spacers to rainse the bunks up a hair in the back and a little more in the front since it dont sit on the bunks toward the front due to the deep "V", perfect PWC trailer for this boat, should ride nice with torsion axle and fully boxed frame.
Hopefully going to glass the otherside of the floor today and that will be done, sand where the bulkheads will be and mark the areas, then glue them in place before glassing them in.

Not my boat, but I would not foam anything below the floor. It will get wet and get heavy. Weep holes in all the bulkheads and leave the center stringer open. jm2cts.

Put it high under the deck, that is where you want it. Low in the boat will make it flip. Up high it will help keep the boat upright if swamped.
