Lost all my pics with the great photo bucket fiasco a couple of years back....I suggest doing a couple of test shots on some cardboard 1st to see what you like.

We decided one BIG stringer would be better than two smaller ones, With the bulkheads and extra supports it should be plenty strong and stiff for a 13' boat. Stringer was glassed out of the boat, sanded cleaned up then glued in place with putty, tomorrow hopefully we are going to be glassing the stringer in the boat.

I like it. Simple to glass. The shape makes it very strong. It supports the floor better too.

Find a shape that is the right size or bigger in height. or...Make one from wood... Apply wax or PVA, to it. Glass over it a couple of layers. Then pop it off and cut to desired shape. Install in boat, glass over with several layers. Works like a charm. My V-King has a box stringer.....Every boat I build has a box, or even several boxes stringer system. Much better since a traditional stringer that has a 3/4'' wide top. (not much contact area) The box can have any width you want. Most of mine are 5'' at least. But for a short/narrow boat it could be smaller.

Wait till you see pics of the deck pattern. He did a great job measuring and drawing it out. Looks real good, gonna have plenty of room for a seat box.
